, all over the middle east has changed dramatically, in the last year, egypt is no longer one by a pro-american dictator but leaders of the muslim brotherhood. should president obama put more pressure on the egyptian government, even threaten to cut off aid, to get hamas to stop firing those rockets? >> he needs to exert every kind of pressure he can, chris to try to make sure it doesn't escalate into a full-blown war between the palestinians and the israelis and, whatever that takes. but, you know, the problem the israelis have is that these rockets are being fired on them, from places that they can't reach by flying over in the air and they are putting them in school yards where they are surrounded by schoolchildren and firing them from marketplaces crowded with people. and, israel has a right to protect itself. and, if sending ground troops in is the only way they can clean out these nests of rockets being fired at them, you know, you can't blame them for doing it. >> chris: all right, let's turn to benghazi. both of you held closed-door hearings this week with top administration of

for the future. live from daly city i'm san mateo ktvu channel 2 news. >>> time is just about 6:07. egypt's prime minister called on israel to end its military attacks on gaza. there is growing signs israel is preparing for a ground invasion. we are watching the situation. this is a live picture from the gaza strip. just moments ago there was smoke in the air. we're not sure what caused it. bombings in the area have continued this morning. hopes for a cease fire ended this morning when militants launched rockets at israel including a strike on tel aviv for the second straight day. israel said it hit 150 targets during the night. this is a third day of very intense fighting. israeli forces are gathering right along the border for a possible ground attack. >>> more protests are planned in san francisco later today outside the israeli consulate on montgomery street. yesterday about are propalestinian demonstrators you are looking at pictures here called for an end to the fighting in gaza and end to u.s. support of israel. a smaller group of proisraeli demonstrators held a counter protest. >>> happen

to dave and tori. >>> 7:45. we have new video of police clashing in cairo, egypt today with protesters angry about present moves by that country's president. [ sirens ] >> police fired tear gas and protesters threw rocks at police on the street near cairo's tahrir square. protesters have been gathering at that square since president mohammad morsi granted himself new sweeping powers. this is the same square that was the center of the uprising that toppled hosni mubarak nearly two years ago. >>> today, the grave of yasser arafat was opened in an attempt to determine whether he was poisoned. this is video from ramallah today. it shows palestinian leaders paying their respects after arafat's remains were returned to his mausoleum. samples were given to french, swiss and russian experts for testing. earlier this year, the detection of a lethal radioactive substance on arafat's belongses sparked a new -- belongings, sparked a new investigation into his death. >>> back here at home, san jose firefighters think eucalyptus oil forced the evacuation of 100 people last night at a local gym. seve
